We hired Joriel as our birth doula, and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision. She was calm, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. From our prenatal meetings, where we discussed our birth plan, labor positions, and preparation, to the moment I went into labor, she made me feel confident and well prepared.

During labor, Joriel’s presence, impressive counter pressure techniques, and ability to create a relaxing environment made a huge difference in my comfort. She was also wonderful with my toddler, ensuring I could focus which took a huge weight off my shoulders. At the hospital, she helped me and supported me to make informed decisions, and her presence was invaluable in keeping me calm and comfortable.

Joriel’s dedication is evident in every aspect of her work. She was always available, even answering my call in the middle of the night and arriving promptly to support me. Her thoughtful recommendations—from nutrition and energy-boosting strategies to what to pack for the hospital—were incredibly helpful. More importantly, she genuinely cared about making my birth experience a positive one. Her expertise, reliability, and care for the families she supports make her an exceptional doula. I am very grateful to have had her by my side.

I cannot emphasize how much Joriel’s presence was a crucial part of my home birth. After hiring two midwives, something about my birth team felt incomplete. I needed a deeper, friendship-type connection in combination with my care. Joriel was everything a birth doula should be: calm, kind, patient, helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating in every way!

Once labor began, Joriel was the first on my team to arrive, beating the midwives by hours! Not only did my early-labor experience include an awesome “girls day,” she provided in-home comfort and care for all members of my family. As labor intensified, and baby descended, Joriel was “front and center,” supporting me through every contraction. As soon as my son was born, Joriel switched modes, displaying another talent, birth photography! 

Birth photography was not originally a part of my plan, but I had asked if she was willing to make an attempt. Her results blew me away! The images she captured are 1000% irreplaceable! Joriel single handedly secured my family’s memories in a way I never thought imaginable, and I cannot thank her enough for it. 

I swear the heavens came together to orchestrate me having her, which resulted in the most beautiful birth experience of my dreams. If there was one thing that made my birth exceptional, Joriel was it. I will recommend her 1000x and 1000x again. 

We are so beyond grateful for Joriel. She pushed past tired and pressed on my back for hours! AND she let me pinch her to death! I could not have gotten through this birth without her. 

As a second time home birther and third time momma, I was looking for a doula who brought experience with physiological birth to support my spouse and I but also could be there to support my young children. Joriel was the exact person we needed. My toddler absolutely adored her and it was so sweet looking up between contractions and seeing my smiling toddler's face while Joriel bounced her on her hip. This support helped me fully surrender to the intense sensations of birth. I am incredibly grateful for the encouragement and conversations before, during, and after the birth. She is very responsive and got to our home quickly when I was in labor and ready for support. She was a blessing for our family, and we would absolutely hire her again if we had another baby.
