Know Before You Birth
When should I hire a doula?
You can hire a doula at any time during your pregnancy, but it’s most common (and recommended) to book a doula by the second trimester of pregnancy. The sooner, the better!
Do you take insurance?
I currently accept Medi-Cal, Partnership HealthPlan of CA. Please select it in the inquiry form.
Where are you located and how can I book you?
I am in Butte County, California, and am willing to commute up to one hour away. I also offer virtual prenatal appointments for those that live further away. Booking is on a first come, first served basis. I recommend reaching out as soon as you can, as my schedule can fill up fast and change frequently.
What is the process after I fill out the intake form?
I’ll reach out in 2-3 days to set up a free 15-minute consultation. We will discuss what you're looking for, how I can best support you, and decide if it's a good fit. I will then send you over a contract. Once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid, we begin to plan prenatal meetings, and you have access to me from there on out!
What birth settings do you work in?
While I am deeply passionate about supporting home births, I also attend births in hospitals and birth centers. My goal is to provide consistent, compassionate support wherever you choose to give birth, ensuring you feel empowered, comfortable, and well-prepared no matter the setting.
Need clarity? I'm just a message away.

If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it

The word "doula" comes from the Greek word doulē,
which means "woman's servant" or "woman who serves." A doula is a trained professional who offers emotional, physical, and educational support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Rooted in compassion and presence, a doula helps create a sacred space where the mother can connect deeply to her own strength and intuition. While not providing medical care, a doula supports the natural flow of birth, offering comfort, encouragement, and empowerment every step of the way. Their role is to nurture the spirit of the family, honoring the transformative journey of birth with respect, love, and compassion.
